Remote Sensing can be a valuable tool in mineral exploration especially in a large remote location such as Alaska. It is critical to have airborne methods to scan vast areas of inaccessible regions. Airborne hyperspectral and other sensors can detect geologic features and mineralization and complement other geoscience data sets to discover and define mineralized zones. The ACMC provides these services primarily through the UAF Hylab and in collaboration with the Alaska Department of Geological and Geophysical Surveys.
